HEIRLOOM LONGEVITY

How to care for handloom Eri silk.

Eri silk is one of nature's most resilient fibers. Unlike conventional filament silk that weakens with moisture, Eri thrives on gentle washing, growing softer, more supple, and more lustrous year after year.

01

Cold Gentle Wash

Wash by hand in cool or lukewarm water using a pH-neutral mild liquid cleanser or baby shampoo. Avoid harsh bleaching agents or biological detergents.

02

Never Wring or Twist

Gently press out excess water between clean dry towels. Avoid twisting or high-spin machine cycles to protect the delicate handspun fiber structure.

03

Dry in the Shade

Lay flat or hang away from harsh direct sunlight. Natural shade drying preserves the undyed raw ivory sheen and botanical dye luster.

04

Press While Damp

Iron on low-to-medium heat while the fabric is slightly damp, preferably on the reverse side. With every wash, Eri silk becomes softer and more luxurious.
